Energy DivisionA Division of the Kansas Corporation Commission, funded through the federal State Energy Program (SEP).Public Projects Grant ProgramThis new grant program was established using $4 million in federal funds received from the Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The program supplements the existing Facility Conservation Improvement Program (FCIP) helping cities and counties implement energy efficiency projects in public buildings that are either too small for FCIP or involve improvements that exceed the 30-year statutory payback period (see program narrative). The Kansas Energy Office has approved awards to 42 cities or counties, and all but two have received final DOE approval. The grants provide 60% of the total eligible cost, up to $150,000. Grant recipients were required to meet certain state and federal requirements.Click here to learn more. ContactRyan Freed General Information: Public Projects Grant Program |
