Renewable Energy Incentives Grant

This new program was created using $2.5 million in federal funds received from the Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The program promotes the use of renewable energy in the public sector and provides grants to cover up to 25 percent of the costs (not to exceed $250,000) of developing, implementing, and installing a renewable energy project (see program description).

Thirteen projects have been approved by the Kansas Energy Division. Of these, eight have received all DOE approvals and three are under construction.
